If you have been here before we'd ask that you register. Registration entitles you to special privlidges like participating in message board discussions, commenting on news and announcements, and much more. Once you register you can even put your birthday on the event calendar and probably get a nice email on your special day.
Registration is simple and only takes a minute. Just click on the Register Now link under the username and password area in the upper right hand corner of this site. All we're asking for is a username for this site, and your email address.
What do we do with your email address?
First of all we WON'T sell it, lend it, or in any way transfer it to any entity that will cause you to get even more spam.
What we will do is: Once you register you will be notified of upcoming rides. You'll be invited to evening rides where we stroll through amazingly quiet and beautiful places and even sometime go to dinner as a group.Â
You'll be notified and reminded about rides in Galveston, Houston and other places that we enjoy as a group. You'll learn about the MS-150? Don't know what that is, keep reading this site.
You'll meet new friends, be invited to lunchs, Bar-B-Ques, Parties and more. You'll find out what's going on in Austin to make cycling in Texas Better.Â
You'll discover organizations like the National Parks Service and why they are so critical to the future of bicycling in Southeast Texas.Â
You'll be invited on trips, asked to go with us on training rides to build endurance.Â
You'll meet people that cycle competitvely and others that ride to relaxe. You'll meet fast riders, slow riders, low riders. On our rides you'll meet doctors, lawyers, contruction workers, teachers.
If you're single you might even find a date.Â
You meet craftsmen, and madmen. Democrats, Republicans, tree huggers and oil field workers. You'll meet news reporters, maybe even get you're picture in the paper. You'll meet kids, and old people and see them as you've never seen them before.Â
You'll sweat and you'll laugh, and sometimes you'll get really pissed off when you see some of the stupid stuff we do.Â
You get some excercise, probably end up buying a new bike or at least you'll appreciate the one you already have a whole lot more.
We'll teach you about bicycle safety, but usually after an accident. You'll make friends that will stop by your house or your job, just cause they are in the neighborhood and wanted to say hi.
If you're in sales, well, you might just sell something. You'll see parts of Beaumont, Lumberton, Fannette, Vidor, Mauriceville, Galveston, Houston, Woodville and other places that you never knew existed.
You'll take group trips on chartered busses to events like the Moonlight Madness in Houston where you'll hang out with about 4000 of your closest friends while cycling through downtown with police escort.Â
You'll get rained on, and bitten by mosquitoes and love every minute of it. We'll ask you to voice your support of cycling in our area political leaders, and anyone else that will listen.
We might even write the letters for you...To show your support of bicycle trails in Southeast Texas.Â
You'll learn about TXDOT (the Texas Department of Transporation) and how your one small voice could have a huge impact on cycling right here in our community in the not too distant future.
You'll learn about the National Parks Service and the vital role they play in creating a bicycle friendly future for Southeast Texas.Â
You'll be part of a united front for environmental activism, just by forwarding a couple of emails, or sticking a stamp on a postcard we'll provide to you.
You'll be informed about recreational bike rides all over Texas, Louisiana, and elsewhere. We'll get you off the couch and on your bike because when you see just how much fun we're having you just won't be able to stand staying at home anymore.
You'll belong to a kid friendly family oriented community of really great folks that just doesn't take themselves too seriously.
